Crab Won Tons
1 – 8 ounces package cream cheese, softened
1 – 6 ounces package frozen crab meat, thawed
36 won ton skins
3 cups peanut oil
Sweet Sour Sauce (see our recipe)
Sweet Sour Sauce
½ cup pineapple juice
½ cup white vinegar
2 tablespoons peanut oil
2 tablespoons packed light brown sugar
1 tablespoon soy sauce
½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
2 teaspoons cornstarch mixed with 4 teaspoons cold water
Cooking Process
Won Ton Filling
1. Mix cream cheese and crab meat in bowl.
2. Place 1 teaspoon in middle of wonton skin; moisten edges with cold water; fold to form triangle; seal edges by pressing together.
3. Prepare remaining won tons in same manner.
4. Heat oil in uncovered wok at 375°. Fry won tons on both sides until golden.
5. Drain on paper towels; keep warm. Serve with Sweet and Sour Sauce for dipping.
Makes approximately 36.
Sweet Sour Sauce
1. Mix first 6 ingredients in wok; bring to boil at 225.
2. Stir cornstarch mixture; add to wok, stirring until sauce is clear and slightly thickened.
