Perfect Steamed Rice

Perfect Steamed Rice

Just add all ingredients and wait for rice perfection.


Makes 5 cups.


1 pound long-grained raw rice

1 tablespoon butter or margarine

5 cups hot tap water

2½ teaspoons salt


Rub interior of pot (bottom and sides) with butter or margarine. Place rice, water and salt in pot. Cover.

Place pot on base and steam rice at Setting # 5 for 1 to 1 ½ hours or until all water is absorbed. Stir after 1 hour. Keep warm for serving at Setting # 2.
