Blending

Can I blend fruits and/or vegetables without liquids?
Please note that the Smoothie Makers are not juicers or food processors. The blades are designed to blend only with a generous amount of liquids. If there are no liquids present, the motor will seize up or burn out.

My motor is turning on, but the blades will not turn to mix my ingredients.
The blade assembly may not turn if the gears on the bottom of the assembly and on the motor base are stripped. To tell if stripping has occurred, look at both gears; the ridges will be worn down and smooth.
