The stir rod in my Stir Crazy® corn popper moves both ways. Is this normal?
Yes. The motor used in the Stir Crazy® corn popper is a synchronous type motor which can operate in either direction. Because of this, it is normal for the stir rod to turn in either direction, and can automatically reverse itself if an unpopped kernel becomes caught between the stir rod and base.
My stir rod seems loose, is this normal?
The stir rod will not fit tightly in the popper base. The motor shaft is mounted on a spring to allow the stir rod to keep turning and not get stuck on a popcorn kernel.
