Crockery Odor

Why does my Crockery Cooker have a bad odor?

You may notice an off odor the first few times you use your cooker. The odor is caused due to manufacturing oils burning off the heating element. This odor should disappear over time.

If you prefer to shorten the length of time you have to endure the odor try the following suggestion: Fill the crock with water and set the control at high and let it cook for 10 hours. You can repeat this procedure if the odor persists. Many of our customers will put the crock in the garage while doing this procedure so the odor remains outside.
