Why won't my food processor turn on?
The cover for the 5500 Food Processor attachment is spring loaded and must be pushed down while turning. When the lid is attached correctly, the feed tube will be parallel with the handle. There are two safety features to prevent injury. To properly engage these safety features, follow the steps below:
Place the gear box base with the mixing container on the motor base.
Place the chopping blade over the shaft in the mixing container.
Place the lid on the mixing container, push down and turn the lid clockwise until it fits into position.
Lid lock must click into locked position prior to use.
