Perfect Steamed Rice

Just add all ingredients and wait for rice perfection.

    1 pound long-grained raw rice
    1 tablespoon butter or margarine
    5 cups hot tap water
    2½ teaspoons salt

  1. Rub interior of pot (bottom and sides) with butter or margarine. Place rice, water and salt in pot. Cover.
  2. Place pot on base and steam rice at Setting # 5 for 1 to 1 ½ hours or until all water is absorbed. Stir after 1 hour. Keep warm for serving at Setting # 2.

    Makes 5 cups.
