Whole Grain Waffles

  • 1½ cups reduced fat milk
  • ¾ cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup quick-cooking oats
  • ½ cup whole wheat flour
  • 1 large egg, lightly beaten
  • 2 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 3 teaspoon baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  1. In a large bowl, mix together flours, oats, baking powder and salt.
  2. In a separate bowl, stir together milk, vegetable oil and egg.
  3. Stir wet ingredients into dry ingredients until large lumps disappear. Don't over mix.
  4. Pour about ¾ cup of waffle batter into the preheated waffle maker and cook until steam no longer escapes and the waffle is golden brown.
